Today he is in good health, he goes to school regularly, is a successful student and is the captain of his village football team. But in 2015 his story was very different. In that year his father, three of his brothers and seven other family members died because of Ebola, a terrible virus that often causes death. Ebola is very common in the tropical regions of sub Saharan Africa. Bakari also got the virus, but he survived thanks to the Save the Children staff that visited and cured him every day. He did not only receive medical cures, but also psychological help. They gave him pens, pencils, books and lunch money so that after some time he could go back to school. This is only one of the millions of children helped and saved by Save the Children. Save the Children is an international organization that operates in more than 120 countries all over the world to save children s lives especially in the poorest countries. Their dream is a world where all children are respected, protected and can go to school and receive the right education. Their mission is to support children especially in the poorest countries and to guarantee that their life conditions get better forever.
